Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We believe that the purpose of the Church is to make disciples. In its original sense, a disciple was a small imitator of Christ. So we believe that it is our purpose to accomplish that end, not only for ourselves, but for anyone who wishes to follow Jesus. There are many ways to do that, but we feel that powerful worship (reaching up), becoming more like Jesus (reaching in), and taking the gospel to our community and to the far corners of the world (reaching out) is our calling.
